i do believe college athletes should be paid but only to a certain extent. my reason being that to play a sport at the collegiate level is a privilege and the main goal is to graduate with a degree, a student athlete brings the school a great amount of income every year and should deserve some sort of pension. most would say a full ride is that reward and the ability to earn a degree but the way some of the rules are a kid could go days without eating and if a friend or somebody outside loans them money then they can face suspension or even kicked out of that school. i believe if a student athlete receives a monthly check or even a weekly check like you would at a part time job then it would not take away the traditions of college sports.
